Wiggle - Day 155

Wiggle and Sir H have had a lovely sunny walk today, even though it was a bit cold here. We went to the river in town and the boys did lots of running and sniffing through the leaves.

A few more throw's of the ball and then it was back home. Sir H went straight to bed to sleep and dry out. Wiggle spent most of the day on th sofa.....

Wiggle - Day 154

This evening I thought I'd try and get started with wrapping some Christmas presents. Wiggle thought he would help me. Unfortunately, his idea of 'helping' mostly involved sitting on the wrapping paper! Sir H stayed out of the way on the sofa but Wiggle decided that as I was sitting on the floor, I must have been sitting there just so he could get extra cuddles.

Wiggle did of course get plenty of cuddles but eventually decided that present wrapping was not as exciting as he had hoped and took himself off to bed. After having sniffed all the parcels thoroughly.

Some lovely news from another LRSE&C volunteer is that our very fab Amanda who runs the Sponsor a Dog scheme has today taken a new foster dog into her home. Until earlier this year, Amanda had been 'fostering' Revel, a very special Chocolate boy. Today, Amanda and Tony welcomed 'home' the very lovely Wesley:















At 12 years old, poor homeless Wesley couldn't be left in kennels while he waits for his new retirement home.....

Wiggle - Day 155

The boys are having a quiet couple of days as I've been working. Judging by the muddy toys, Wiggle has been having fun with the dog walker though!




















While it's quiet here I'll just mention the charity auction which is starting soon on the Woof Beginnings forum (link on the right). The auction runs from Sunday 23rd November until midnight Sunday 7th December. There are lots of lovely items and all the money raised will go to helping rescues, so definitely worth a look.

We're looking forward to the weekend as we will be meeting up with some friends from The Refuge forum for a group walk over at Bradford on Avon. Wiggle and Sir H thoroughly enjoyed themselves when we walked there a while ago and us humans enjoyed the rest stop at the pub! I will of course be taking the camera along.

Sir H - Day 153

I wouldn't normally have an entry in Wiggle's blog dedicated to Sir H, however I took this short video during our walk earlier.

Wiggle - Day 152 & Day 153

Day 152

Wiggle had a rather muddy but good walk yesterday when we met up with Clare, one of his sponsors and her other half and of course their dog, the very lovely Lady.

We met just outside Birmingham and walked around the park. Lady joined Wiggle for a game of fetch while Sir H mostly followed Lady around. I think their love of wallowing in muddy puddles is what made Sir H decide he was in love!

And then back to running after the tennis balls. Lady is very clever and can carry two at a time, which confused Wiggle a little. Lady noticed that Wiggle had found a puddle and was quick to realise a wallowing opportunity was nearby...
























However, while Sir H and Lady were sharing their mutual appreciation of mud, Wiggle had been busy skidding in muddle puddles


























Before it was time to head back to the car, Lady had one last wallow:














Then, no doubt much to their disgust, Wiggle and Sir H had a rub down with towels to try and dry them off a bit.

It was very lovely to meet Clare and I think both my boys enjoyed their walk with Lovely Lady!


Day 153

This morning we popped over to Bristol to see our friend Sarah and went for a walk in the park with Bran and Flora and Twister who was visiting too. With Twister as keen on the tennis ball as Wiggle, it wasn't long before the ball was shredded but that didn't stop them running around like loons.

After some refreshment for us humans we headed on home. Driving past Maude Heath I noticed the cows had gone in for milking so we stopped and the boys had another walk. Well, Wiggle did lots of running while Sir H mostly laid down, as you can see in this little video clip:

Wiggle - Day 151

Wiggle has been 'working" this evening and done his first homecheck. I've not done any homechecks for a while but when I do, always take one of the dogs along. Wiggle was very good and thoroughly approved of the lovely couple and all being well, another rescue dog will be off to her new forever home at the weekend.

Sir H, however, has not been such a good boy. Beneath that mild mannered distinguished exterior lies a cunning, plotting old chap. This afternoon, while Wiggle was being good and having a wee on the patio, Sir H disappeared. I thought he was behind the table and chairs, but no, he was hopping his way back up the garden!

Without me noticing, Sir H had made an escape hole in the temporary fencing. I don't know how long it has been since Sir H created his route to freedom, but needless to say, he was pretty pleased with himself. He's not so happy now though after I'd spent 10 minutes or so securing the fence with more cable ties and some strategically placed plant pots.

Tomorrow Wiggle and Sir H have a date - with one of Wiggle's lovely sponsors, Clare, and her dog Lady. We're meeting up for a little walk so I shall report back, with photos, on Sunday.

Wiggle - Day 150

I've been out so the boys have had a chance to get plenty of rest after their adventures yesterday. Despite the weather today being rather dull and wet we managed to get out when it wasn't raining, so that was good.

One of Wiggle's favourite toys is his Kong Wubba. There's something about the fleecey, dangly toy that makes him go a little silly. After he'd got rather excited at the weekend and was leaping about inside, I took the toy away to give Wiggle a chance to calm down. This evening, Wiggle was lounging on the sofa....












I didn't think Wiggle would notice me returning the absent Kong Wubba to the toy basket. I was wrong! No sooner had I gone to put the kettle on, I heard noises. Yep, Wiggle had found the toy











After an initial sniffing, Daft Wiggle made an appearance








































































By the look on his face, I think Wiggle is pleased to have his Kong back!
