Wiggle played fetch, ran around a lot and Sir H just pootled along, stopping for a sit down/lie down every so often. Actually, more often than not. Perhaps watching Wiggle run around like a mad thing was all too tiring for Sir H...

Wiggle - Day 146
Wiggle and Sir H have avoided the horrid rain and gales and stayed on higher ground with a walk on the Marlborough Downs. Once again, very autumnal with the fallen leaves but also very windy!! In Wiggle terms, flappy ear-windy!

Wiggle - Day 143
It's Glow in the Dark Wiggle!! And Sir H. Both demonstrating their "PupLights". I had two originally, for Poppy and Bumpy but somehow managed to lose one. As its dark in the evenings now, I decided it was time to replaced the lost light and it arrived today.
As you can see, the boys are now well lit up and the good thing about the Puplights is that even if they are offlead and facing away from me, the light shines down towards to the ground so I can still see them.
It's a bit difficult to get a decent photo but you get the idea!
After all the fireworks last night, I'm not taking them out tonight. Thankfully, neither Wiggle or Sir H were worried about the loud noises but there are still a few fireworks going off so they are staying home, rather than getting scared.

Wiggle - Day 142
It's been a misty autumn day here so our afternoon walk on the Downs was rather bleak. The gloomy weather didn't stop Wiggle having a good run around though and he was tearing off all over the place.
Just as we got on the Downs the drizzle started so the photo's aren't very good, but you'll get the idea. Wiggle managed to look like the Beast of the Downs...

Wiggle and Sir H checked out all the smells as we walked through the woods, snuffling happily through the damp leaves. There's all sorts of wildlife there so clearly very interesting if you're a dog!

We walked on through the woods until we were on top of the hill and the open space seemed to flick a switch in Wiggle and he was racing around, jumping through the long grass and having a great time.

A quick stop for a sit down...

Sir H didn't see any reason for mad running and pootled along at his own pace, not even trying to keep up with speedy Wiggle

After we'd walked down the hill it was time to head back to the car, alongside the gallops, so Wiggle made the most of the open space and ran some more.

Both boys are tired but happy after their misty walk.

Wiggle - Day 141
I've been out today - shopping for the dogs! I can't say too much at the moment or it will spoil their Christmas surprises, but this year Wiggle will definitely be getting spoilt! We're taking part in the Secret Santa on The Refuge so Wiggle and Sir H will be exchanging presents with our doggy forum friends. I don't like to think how Christmas has been in previous years for Wiggle but this year he will be very much part of the festivities.
Whilst I was shopping, I found a fleecey jumper for Sir H. Didn't want him feeling left out and as he is also partial to a bit of wallowing in the water, he won't get all cold after a wintery dip

Wiggle has got over his sickness and is glad to be back on proper dog food after a couple of days of fish and rice. Unfortunately he's been scratching again so I've put his Atopica back up to 50mg daily after having reduced it to every other day. The dose varies from dog to dog but its likely Wiggle will need to have the drugs daily for another month or two until his body has responded properly and then he can go back down to every other day again.
I know I often thank everyone for supporting Wiggle, but you really do make a difference to getting him to how he is now, so a big Wiggly thank you to Dean, Mark, Jackie, Clare and Christine for sponsoring him.

Wiggle - Day 140
We've had a lovely day today visiting our friend Sam in Milton Keynes but once again, I forgot the camera. Doh! However, there will be photo's coming up later in this blog entry of a very special dog....
The boys went to visit the very lovely Marie, aka Grandma Squirrel, Sam's mum. Grandma Squirrel makes fab dog beds for rescues and donated a lovely bed to Wiggle's recent auction. Gracie the Greyhound and Charlie Mouse, the teeny tiny Yorkshire Terrier live with Grandma Squirrel and luckily for Wiggle and Sir H, after we'd had a coffee at Sam's, next stop was a lunch date with Gracie and Charlie Mouse. Wiggle and Sir H were very impressed with thier pate on toast and fairy cake with yoghurt for afters!
Gracie led the way as we all went to their local park for a little walk. The boys had a good sniff around but avoided the river as apart from looking rather cold, it was flooded too after the recent heavy rain.
Then it was back to Sam's for some more coffee but by this time Sir H was a bit worn out so he had a snooze in the car while Sam and I took Wiggle and Noah for a walk in the woods. Sam's other dogs, Winston and Holly had made alternative plans with Adrian, the dog walker so it was just the two boys with us.
By the time we got back, both boys were nice and muddy but happy after their afternoon.
While at Sam's, I caught up with her news about the Dogstar Foundation. There's a link to the Dogstar website in Wiggle's Links. Those of you who know me in the 'real world' will know that until April this year I had Bumpy Jake, my happy handsome blind Black Labrador who came to me from LRSE&C in 2005. Bumpy was 9 and already blind when I adopted him and Sam was with me and Mindy on the day I met Bumpy at the kennels where he was waiting for his new home. For me, it was love at first sight and we had 3 very happy years together before Bumpy lost his life to cancer in April of this year.
Bumpy:

Sam was in Sri Lanka a couple of weeks ago and spotted a new dog a the Temple. The Temple Monks care for the dogs and Dogstar Foundation is in place to vaccinate them against rabies and have a neutering programme. Each dog is given a name and the new dog at the Temple is a very handsome and sweet natured black boy who is blind. He's been called Bumpy.
Sadly I doubt I'll ever get to go to Sri Lanka and meet the new Bumpy so I asked Sam if I could do the next best thing - adopt him. Here's the handsome boy:

I'm now sponsoring Sri Lankan Bumpy and have covered the cost of his neutering and will be helping with costs for his care. Bumpy has been checked up by the local vets and vaccinated against Rabies and will be neutered at the next clinic.
Sam said he was very good when he had his vaccination and didn't need to be muzzled. He apparently is, like his namesake, a very happy chap who wanders around, bumping into things and likes to sleep on the steps of the school next to the Temple.

Sam is going out to Sri Lanka again next month so all being well, I will get more news and updats on how Bumpy is doing. There is every chance that being a stray, Bumpy will wander off but hopefully there'll be more news soon.

Wiggle - Day 139
Wiggle has had a busy weekend of walking and going to the pub. Yesterday he was a very good boy and accompanied us to the pub before going for a nice long walk up at Maude Heath. I'd forgotten the camera but Wiggle did plenty of running around. Until he lost his tennis ball. Sir H pottered around but refrained from running.
This morning Wiggle woke me up at about 6am as he was being sick. He did eat grass yesterday while we were out and has been fine since, so I'm hoping its nothing to worry about but will obviously keep an eye on him over the next few days.
Today we had a nice long walk down by the river, but again I forgot the camera. Wiggle got nice and mucky after jumping in the river, which after all the rain overnight was a lot higher than usual. Sir H decided it was far too cold for such madness and just splashed around in puddles instead.
Wiggle had a bit of a fright when some big scary cows moo'd at him. Not content with moo'ing and making Wiggle jump, the cows when followed us from their side of the path as we walked along. Poor Wiggle wasn't sure what to make of them and is using the big scary moo cows as the reason for losing another tennis balls.
As Wiggle was mucky after being dried off, he wore his fleece jumper and it would seem that when the camera isn't around, he doesn't look half as miserable! He was all snuggly and warm and happily playing with toys and snoozing in the chair, still wearing his fleece. I think he secretly rather likes it.
Thankfully, when we went to my parents for lunch my mum had found some bargain tennis balls during a recent shopping trip so the tennis ball supply has been replenished.
On the way back home we stopped at the pub so Wiggle came in too. He was very good and took no notice of one of the pub's canine regulars when they had a bark at him and he lapped up all the fuss from his new found friends.
Tomorrow we are off to Milton Keynes to see our friend Sam and her dogs Holly, Noah and Winston. Gertie, aka Grouchie Cat (see Wiggle's links) lives there too and I suspect will bop Wiggle on the nose if he dares to enter her room.....
