Yesterday evening, while laying on the floor with Wiggle and having a cuddle, I was reminded of just how clumsy he is. He was rolling on his bed, wagging his tail and mostly being soppy. Until he rolled out of his bed...
It's not the first time Wiggle has showed signs of being a little 'thpeshul'. He has spacial awareness issues and has walked into closed doors and run into the sofa. He often stands at the top of the stairs and turns to look downstairs and hits his head on the bannister and will trip over his own feet.
Strange really, that a dog so clumsy can be so quiet and stealth-like and sneak onto my bed in the middle of the night. We'll be having words about that. Again...

Wiggle - Day 78
Doesn't Wiggle look impressed to be wearing his dressing gown? You'd be right if you said no!! Wiggle had his bath yesterday so I put the towelling doggy dressing gown on him to dry him off. He wriggled and wiggled until he had got himself caught up in it, so I had to give in and take it off. Fortunately he was pretty much dry by then.
Wiggle is now over his trauma and speaking to me again. I think having the bath helped ease his skin as last night there was no repeat of the previous mad scratching session.

Wiggle - Day 77
This morning we met up with my friend Cheryl and her 3 dogs Ella, Lizzie and Henry for a walk at Coate Water in Swindon. All the dogs had a great time, running around, chasing each other and splashing about in the water. Well, all but Dolly and Henry who didn't want to get their feet wet! Sir H had a paddle but wasn't in the mood for swimming so Wiggle, Ella and Lizzie made sure at least 3 of the 6 dogs got nice and wet.
We stopped for a sit down on a bench with our coffee's for a chat while Sir H caught up on some sleep, obviously worn out watching the others running about. Wiggle managed to find something stinky to roll in - probably goose poo again. Yuk! Thankfully though he didn't get a chance for a full on roll around before I caught up with him and put him back on the lead. Just as well today is bath day for Wiggle.
Wiggle's had a bit of a blip with his skin. Since being on the reduced dose of Atopica he was doing fine but during the night he woke me up as he came upstairs and was rubbing his chest and tummy on the floor, so looks like he's not ready for the reduced dose just yet. Bridget the vet did say that if he shows signs of being more itchy then to up his doseage again, so I've started that today. Hopefully in a few days the higher dose will start to take effect and Wiggle will be scratching less.

Wiggle - Day 76
Fab news today from Wiggle - the very kind and generous people at Woof Beginnings, the online community, have made a donation of £100 to Wiggle's vet fund! There's a link to Woof Beginnings on the right of the screen, if you've not checked the forum out yet.
The donation is really very kind and also very welcome as to date Wiggle's vet bill is over £900. Combined with the mini auction held on The Refuge which raised £650, that will really make a huge difference to LRSE&C, so thank you very much indeed.
Today I needed to get more dog food so as the shop is on the way to where we walk by the river, the dogs came too. As soon as I parked outside the shop and opened the boot of the car, Wiggle jumped out and straight into the shop. The lovely lady in the shop was rather surprised to see Wiggle as he's not been in for a few weeks and she couldn't get over how different he was looking. Wiggle said hello and then set about sniffing everything and checking out the treats in store.
We then went for our walk and thankfully today Wiggle didn't feel the need to roll in any dead animals. He was far too busy with Dolly, running around chasing the tennis ball and going for a swim. Wiggle was very pleased with himself when he found a tennis ball in the grass but managed to lose it at some point on the way back to the car.

Wiggle - Day 75
Wiggle has been down to the river for a walk today, before the sunshine was replaced by rain. He and Dolly had fun running around chasing each other and the tennis ball. Everything was going nicely until Wiggle found a very manky, deceased and flat hedgehog. Being a dog who likes vile things, he had to stop and roll in it.
Thankfully, he was close to the river so all it took to clean him up was me throwing the ball into the water. Sir H went in for a paddle but Dolly would not be persuaded to even get her feet wet.
Wiggle's pretty much stopped coughing now but will be on the anti-biotics for another couple of days to complete the course. So far, he's not been scratching so thats good as he has been on the Atopica every other day instead of daily to give the anti-biotics a chance to work. As Wiggle has been doing so well, I'll keep him on the Atopica every other day and see how he gets on.
