Today I received a text from Mark at Dogstar Foundation with sad news from Sri Lanka.
Bumpy, the blind street dog who had been cared for by Dogstar for 4 years had sadly passed away last night, from natural causes, at the Raqndeniya Temple. Bumpy was full of personality and cared for by the monks at the Temple, with his veterinary needs taken care of by Dogstar Foundation.
From Dogstar: "Its with great sadness that we have to announce that Bumpy the Blind Temple dog at Randeniya has passed away . Bumpy was a blind street dog who thankfully wandered into the Temple early in 2008 and became a Dogstar dog. Bumpy lived very happily with a number of other Dogstar dogs and was a great favourite of the Dogstar team , volunteers and the Monks. Our special thanks go to Bumpys sponsor Mum Wendy in the UK who help us support Bumpy's care for the last 4 years"
Bumpy got his name to honour another very special blind dog, my very own Bumpy:
Bumpy, seen here with Poppy in March 2007, passed away from cancer just a couple of months before Wiggle arrived here.
I'd like to think that these two very special Bumpy dogs are bumping around together at the Rainbow Bridge...

We are all very sad here at Dogstar but we found 2 new female puppies at the same temple and have named them Poppy and Sofy in Bumpys memory
