Wiggle - Day 611

So today we went to Westonbirt Arboretum for their Dog Days event. To be honest, the Dog Days part was a bit of a let down, not an awful lot there although it was a good experience for Sofy to be in close contact with lots of other dogs.

She did me proud and was very good and nice to all the dogs and people she met. We had such a lovely, sunny day here so went for a nice long walk around Silk Wood.

Unfortunately, my useless ball throwing didn't get the walk off to the best start:

I managed to throw the ball and it got stuch in a tree! Thankfully, I'd taken 2 tennis balls with me, just in case of such a disaster, so Wiggle and Sofy still had a ball to chase after.

Wiggle and Sofy played nicely, taking it in turns with the ball:

Despite it being a dog-oriented event, we didn't actually meet many other dogs while we were walking!

Wiggle and Sofy had lots of fun, running and chasing the ball and each other:

Enjoying the sunshine:

Waiting for the ball and still relatively clean at this point!

Wiggle found something unpleasant to roll in - showing off whatever it was, on his face!

More running:

Wiggle added some mud to his nose, to complete his look for the day:

Wiggle looks for more mud while Sofy plays fetch:

Sofy found a nice muddy puddle to splash in:

Just me and the dogs!

More fun in the sun:

Wiggle had a good time:

Sunshine and shade:

Sofy beats Wiggle to the ball:

Wiggle waits for Sofy to drop the ball:

Wiggle watches the ball.....

But Sofy didn't want to let go!

After eventually dropping the ball, Wiggle ran on ahead, hoping that he could keep the ball for himself for a while:

Nearly crashing into each other!

But once again, Wiggle gets the ball!

Muddy dogs, sitting on the cafe decking while I had a coffee:

After having the mud brushed off, both Wiggle and Sofy have been sleeping since we got home....

Wiggle - Day 610

Another sleepy photo this evening - although I did try and get what would have been a cute picture - Wiggle and Sofy sitting with their paws in between each other's.

Wiggle, Sofy and I are going to Westonbirt Dog Days tomorrow - http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-7XWLBE

We were going to be going with Tracey, Wiggle's trainer but unfortunately she's unwell so unable to make it - we hope you feel better very soon, Trace!

I'm not sure what Sofy will make of it as there will be lots of other dogs. She's still having good walks and not so good walks, greeting dogs she's met with lots of tail wagging and the odd occassion of barking at dogs she doesn't know.

We'll see how Sofy finds tomorrow and report back!

Wiggle - Day 609

After a soggy walk, it's a quiet evening in the warm and dry....

Sir H, just before falling asleep and snoring loudly:

Wiggle - Day 608

Wiggle and Sofy have both had mail today! Wiggle received a Valentine's card from his lovely girlfriend, Lucy the Lab, all the way from Seattle! Sadly the postal system between here and there let the two lovehounds down as Wiggle's card was a few days late....

To start with, Wiggle was chewing on a tennis ball and not showing much interest:

But when he realised the card was from his best girl, he quickly sniffed and breathed in her snuffle!

Deep in thought, Wiggle let out a big sigh, no doubt wishing he could have snuffled with Lucy for real.....

Wiggle's card from his best girl, at floor level on the fireplace:

Sofy's post was nearly as exciting - a new collar!

All the dogs have their own 'colour' - Wiggle's is red, Sir H is blue and as Sofy is here forever now, I thought she needed her own collar instead of the one she had from my supply of collars.

I found this lovely collar at the Big Dog Boutique - http://www.bigdogboutique.com/ so Sofy's mail was also from America! Their online shop has a great range of collars, styles and sizes and as Sofy now uses Wiggle's red Halti lead and has a red collar tag, I decided she needed something to co-ordinate!

First attempt at being a model:

"Me? A model?"

Bored of modelling, Sofy got a tennis ball to play with instead....

Wiggle - Day 607

Today is Shrove Tuesday so it's Pancake Day! And as pancakes are just milk, eggs and flour, I got pancakes for the dogs.

Wiggle & Sofy wait for theirs:

Wiggle goes for the "If I pretend I can't see it, maybe it will come & surprise me" approach and refuses to look at the plate!

Sofy, on the other hand, is in full concentration mode:

Wiggle is first for pancake:

Waiting:

Sofy's turn:

More for Wiggle:

Sir H had pancakes too but decided to eat his while in his bed!

Sir H licks his lips - nommy pancakes!

Wiggle - Day 606

After yesterday's long walk, Wiggle and Sofy spent most of the evening like this:

They managed to move for their dinner but soon after went back to sleep. Both of them were so tired that they spent all of today sleeping, even Wiggle was still asleep when I got in from work!

Sir H only had his daily short walk up to the green but is happy spending vast amounts of time sleeping.

This evening, after his dinner, Sir H was a little perkier:

And even had the energy to poke his tongue out at me!

Wiggle - Day 605

It's been a busy Sunday for Wiggle! He woke up to find his beautiful girlfriend Lucy had left him a special Valentine's Day message on Twitter:

After a short nap, clearly overcome with excitement, Wiggle and Sofy came with me to the petshop to get dogfood. We went the back roads so stopped at Maude Heath on the way back for a quick run around:

As always, they both wanted me to throw the ball:

Wiggle, with Sofy not far behind!

Sofy, although she's fast on her feet, she doesn't seem to have Wiggle's stamina!

Wiggle waits for Sofy to drop the ball:

But she didn't want to!

If this morning's walk wasn't enough, we had my friends the Two Allan's due at lunchtime to go for a walk. We went up to the Downs and boys being boys, they found the rope swings in the trees!

Once they'd got bored with swinging, we carried on with our walk until we had to stop and search for the ball after Sofy ran off with it and couldn't remember where she'd dropped it!

Allan, followed by Wiggle and Sofy in the tall grass, leads the search party

Ball found, time for a game of tuggy!

More running:

We walked on round the edge of the gallops, with Sofy and Wiggle still running around:

As soon as we got home, Wiggle went to bed and only moved to have his dinner!
