Wiggle - Day 245

Wiggle is definitely getting more relaxed about Pudding being with us. She seems to prefer Wiggle to Sir H, probably because Sir H does so little, he's not interesting enough! I think Wiggle likes having a friend to run around with, especially as he know's he's very fast when it comes to running after tennis balls! He comes over all smug, knowing that Pudding wants to run with him, but will never beat him.

I think Wiggle secretly likes having someone to cuddle up with too. For he first few days of Pudding being with us, Wiggle went to his bed but now. He squishes up on the sofa with her and she usually falls asleep on him. Pudding has also discovered toys and Wiggle, being the perfect gentleman he is, has been sharing....

In other news, there's a fundraising auction being held on The Refuge forum, starting next weekend. At the moment, there's a few of sending hundreds of emails out, begging for donations as well as collecting donations from forum members. The lots so far can be found here:

http://www.therefuge.org.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=139

Previous auctions on the forum have raised on average £3,000 each time and as with past auctions, there will be two very worthy recipients of all the proceeds: Dogstar Foundation and Wiccaweys Border Collie Rescue.

If you have anything to donate, or know of any companies that might be able to donate a an item, please do get in touch (Wiggle's email address on his profile page). We've got some great items so far including 2 tickets to see Coldplay, various doggy items, books and loads more so pretty much anything that can be posted to the winning bidder would be very gratefully accepted!

Wiggle - Day 243

I've been back at work today so Pudding has had her first day of our 'work routine'. After a good nights sleep, we were up early and the dogs all had their breakfast followed by a sleep while I got ready for work.

As usual, we were out for our walk early and then the dogs all have the morning to sleep until the dogwalker comes in. As I wasn't entirely sure how Pudding would be I asked for the dogwalker to let me know if she was at all worried or if there were any problems but I'm pleased to report that I didn't get a call and all was fine.

When I got home, Wiggle and Pudding were pleased to see me and after a post dinner rest, we had our evening walk. Sir H wasn't feeling so active so had a lie down while Pudding had a run around with Wiggle. As the boys have their Puplights, Wiggle was offlead and Pudding on the extending lead.

Wiggle is definitely warming to the idea of having a new sister. He was happy and waggy when Pudding showed an interest in what he was doing while he was playing with a tennis ball. After Pudding got up on the sofa, Wiggle came over and sniffed and snuffled her face.

Both Wiggle and Pudding are fast asleep now, curled up together on the sofa.

Going.....

.... going.....

Gone!

Wiggle - Day 242

Wiggle, Sir H and Pudding have been for a lovely walk on the Downs. Wiggle was running around, in and out of the tree's, chasing his tennis ball. Sir H was going at his usual, slower pace and Pudding started off on the lead, watching Wiggle play

Pudding:

Pudding watching Wiggle:

And watching both boys:

Wiggle, waiting for me to throw the ball while Pudding sits for the sake of it!

Sir H, taking a break:

Pudding, also deciding a rest is a good idea!

Sir H, typically overcome with excitement, while Pudding still watches Wiggle

Once again, Wiggle managed to lose another tennis ball but convinced himself that he knew where it was so did lots of running back and forth. As Pudding had been so interested in running with Wiggle, she had a few minutes offlead and enjoyed herself running around, coming back to me each time I called her.

I now have 3 very worn out dogs here!

Wiggle - Day 241

Wiggle seems to be thawing a little towards Pudding. Last night, they were cuddled up together on the sofa:

We've been out across the fields today and Pudding has showed signs of being interested in playing, first off by having a sneaky sniff of Wiggle's tennis ball

Pudding was happy to watch Wiggle running around..

Two happy dogs:

Pudding watching Wiggle again

And getting ready to pounce!

Not the best quality photo, but it made me laugh!

While she's been on the long lead, I've been practising Pudding's recall and as she has been doing well so far, we walked over to a quiet corner of the field and she had about a minute of off-lead time. As I thought, she wanted to run with Wiggle, so as he fetches the ball back, sure enough, Pudding came back too!

It's still early days and at the moment, Pudding is here as a foster but Wiggle is enjoying having someone to play ball with.

Wiggle - Day 240

Wiggle and Sir H are still being a good host to our guest. Wiggle is sulking a little still but I've reminded him that he was the new dog not so long ago. He's being good with Pudding though and still getting plenty of hugs for himself.

And being Wiggle, he's been playing with his toys!

Pudding isn't sure of the world yet so has been following Wiggle

All 3:

Last night, Wiggle relented a little and got snuggly with Pudding

Wiggle - Day 239

We have a houseguest!

Yesterday, Wiggle and I went over to Wales to visit Fi at Lizzies Barn Sanctuary as she had some new Labs in. Those of you who know me will know how heartbroken I was to lose Dolly last year, so I'd been looking out for another chocolate girl who could potentially join Wiggle, Sir H and I.

A couple of months ago we met Katie and a week and a bit ago, her mum, Pudding was also given up to the rescue.

Pudding has never lived in a house before and originally came from a puppy farm, so the world is a big scary place right now. After meeting her, she has come home with us and is here on foster.

Wiggle & Pudding:

Pudding has been trying out the sofa:

And last night, was sharing with the boys:

Sir H has taken much notice really and is still spending most of his time on his bed. Wiggle is a bit unsure, probably because since losing Dolly, he's become very attached to me. But, it's early days and hopefully in time, Pudding and Wiggle will become great friends and playmates.

Wiggle - Day 236

Wiggle & Sir H are not impressed! The snow has been replaced by rain so they've had a very soggy walk. For some reason, they decided to console each other in their mutual misery and get on the same bed.

Don't they look happy?!
