Wiggle - Day 2,448

Spring seems to have arrived at last!  The birds have been visiting our garden and enjoying the feeder:

While Wiggle has been enjoying being outside, enjoying the fresh spring air and the warmth of the sun on his fur:

In other Wiggle News, he saw Malcolm the vet earlier in the week and after discussing his wobbly moments, he is taking medication called Aktivait.  We agreed that Wiggle doesn't seem to be in pain but he has moments when his feet don't go the way he thinks they will which can be due to the small nerves in his legs and feet not sending messages to his brain.  The drug works to help increase the ability of the brain to get the messages so hopefully in time, combined with the hydrotherapy, Wiggle we be a little steadier on his paws.

Wiggle - Day 2,441

We stopped off at Maud Heath earlier today, making the most of the nice weather.

Wiggle and Sofy were both happy to be free:

Wiggle went off, doing his own thing:

Sofy made her own fun - with mud!

Sadly, Wiggle doesn't run as fast as he used to, but he enjoyed himself:

Wiggle - Day 2,434

I have no idea why, but for some reason the last few weeks have flown by!  Wiggle is now swimming once a week as he is doing so well.  Sofy comes with us and watches and nearly fell in the pool, because she's daft like that.

We celebrated Shrove Tuesday with pancakes, but with their usual enthusiasm and speed-eating I was too slow in getting photo's of Wiggle and Sofy eating their pancakes.

It's definitely easier to take photo's of them sleeping!

Wiggle - Day 2,420

Yesterday we had some errands to run but stopped off on our way home for a walk up on Maud Heath.  Sofy was smiling:

While Wiggle was happy to be off lead:

Enjoying our walk:

Stopping to watch the cows.  And probably think about tasty beef steaks!

Today was more about relaxing in sun-puddles:

Wiggle - Day 2,413

A few weeks back Wiggle started going swimming at Glendora Hydrotherapy in the hope that he  would be able to exercise and build up some muscle in his back legs.

I'm very happy to report that not only does Wiggle love his swimming sessions but he's also benefiting from the exercise.

We're going twice a week at the moment and Wiggle has worked up to 20 minutes in the pool where he gets to swim after his tennis ball a few times and then rest before swimming again.  Wiggle is doing so well that he has advanced from wearing the life preserver harness to just an ordinary harness.

Wiggle loves his sessions and is always happy to go into the centre, get his harness on and walk up the ramp to the pool.  He's less happy having to give up the tennis ball but usually will after some persuading.

Before Christmas, I'd noticed how much slower Wiggle had become and unsteady on his back legs but last weekend, Wiggle looked really good as we walked, managing about 45 minutes without any problems.

Apart from the physical benefits, Wiggle seems a lot perkier and happy in himself which makes me so happy to see.  He's not looking so old and weary and it's wonderful to see my special boy enjoying life once more.

Wiggle - Day 2,406

This weekend we ended up going to London so Wiggle and Sofy came to work with me on Friday to save time on our journey east.  After saying hello to everyone, they slept:

Sofy and Cato were very excited to be reunited and quickly got down to some playing:

On Saturday Wiggle went to work with Mindy so I took Sofy, Cato and Haggis to Wimbledon:

And today, we were blessed with another lovely morning so went to Richmond Park:

Sofy was trying really hard to be a Good Girl:

But quickly found a puddle to get muddy:

Wiggle was happy to carry his ball for all of our walk:

And after a hastily planned but lovely weekend, time to catch up on some sleep...

Happy 5th Gotcha Day Sofy!

I can't believe it's been 5 years since our daft little choccie girl arrived!  We've celebrated Sofy's special day with a sunny walk on the Downs and plenty of treats.

Wiggle did some running earlier:

Resting and enjoying the sunshine:
