Wiggle - Day 264

The auction to benefit Dogstar and Wiccaweys ended last night with a fantastic £1,445 which is fantastic and will really help these two organisations. Thank you to everyone who took part and to everyone who donated itesms

After yesterdays walk, Wiggle, Sir H and Pudding were all worn out and no doubt slept through the night while I was at work.

I've stolen a few photo's taken by Amy and Ange - the first two Amy took of all the dogs playing in the river and then mugging me for treats!

The last photo makes me giggle - Wiggle and Pudding, wrapped up in a blanket trying to dry off after the torential rain!

Tomorrow Wiggle is off to see Bridget the vet so I shall report back with an update.

Wiggle - Day 263

We've been to Bradford on Avon this morning to meet up with some friends for a walk. There were 12 dogs all together - 11 Labradors! And little Louis, honorary Labrador.

Strange day for weather - we started off with bright sunshine, then it clouded and a few rain spots by which time we'd reached the half way point, the pub. After a coffee stop, the rain got harder and turned to hailstones and then snow! By the time we got back to the cars, it was sunny again.

All the dogs got on great and had lots of fun splashing about in the river, running around in the fields and apart from Helen's Bert falling in the river and needing to be rescued, we had a very lovely walk.

Here's some of the photo's I took although I didn't manage to get all 11 Labs in one shot....

Splashing about in the river:

More splashing

As always, Pudding following Wiggle, whether on land or in the water!

Sir H, shaking off the hailstones!

When we got home, the camera had misted up and I ended up with a slighly soft focus Wiggle!

The auction on the Refuge ends this evening and so far we've had lots of bids, which is great. Hopefully we'll raise lots for Wiccaweys and Dogstar.

Wiggle - Day 261

As I've been at work, there's been lots of sofa guarding by Wiggle. I've been keeping check on them all via the webcam and apart from their excitement when the dogwalker comes in, I've been watching sleeping dogs.

I think I spoke too soon when I mentioned that Wiggle hadn't had the Atopica for a few days - he's got a slightly pink tummy and I've noticed his eyes have been a little gunky.

We're off to see Bridget the skin specialist vet next Tuesday for a checkup. Wiggle's not seen her for about 6 months as she was happy for me to carry on with the medication and adjust the dose according to how he was getting on. It may be that Wiggle's gunky eyes are not allergy related but to be on the safe side, we'll see what Bridget thinks.

Wiggle - Day 259

I've been busy with one thing and another for the last couple of days, so not much to report from Wiggle. I think he's been getting over his hectic weekend and walk on Monday as he's definitely been sleeping more than usual!

Some hopefully good news is that since the weekend before last, Wiggle has not had any of his Atopica medication. I say "hopefully" because he may have to go back on it, but I'm keeping an eye on him and making sure he's not scratching but so far, Wiggle's skin does seem to be doing ok.

Needless to say, if Wiggle does get on ok without the drugs, then that would be fantastic news, as it would mean that his body no longer reacts to the allergens.

Wiggle - Day 257

The Refuge auction started last night so while I spent the evening sorting things for that, Wiggle, Pudding & Sir H slept off their lovely long walk as they were all quite tired yesterday.

Today we've had some lovely sunshine and we decided it was too good to waste such a lovely day so met up with Ange & Rob with Minnie Moo and Max for a walk on The Downs.

I'd already taken all 3 out in the morning but Sir H was still very tired and chose to stay on his bed, so just Wiggle & Pudding with me, but they were enjoying themselves while we waited for the others to arrive.

Once we'd all met up, we walked up through the tree's and along the ridge of the hill. Minnie Moo chased her ball on a rope while Wiggle and Pudding chased after their tennis ball:

Max remembered his friends and was soon running around, playing with Pudding and Wiggle

We ended up chucking 3 balls around and they kept on swapping and chasing each other although each time Pudding got the ball, she dropped it and Wiggle brought it back!

Four very happy Labs:

Wiggle - Day 256

We've been to London for the weekend to stay with Mindy and Paul and their boys, Toby and Beenzie. All the boys know each other but it was all new for Pudding.

She was very good though and apart from being a bit worried when we went for an evening walk up to the Common (London is a big, scary place for little Pudding!), she took it all in her stride.

This morning we all went off to Virginia Water for a walk around the lake. Pudding hasn't seen water since she's been here, but she was straight in the lake with Wiggle and Toby:

After lots of splashing around, it was time to run around, chasing tennis balls and checking the smells....

Sir H, walking past The Cascade:

More running, with flappy ears included!

Dogs having fun:

And getting wet!

The Big Stick accompanied us for most of the walk:

All three are absolutely worn out now and all dry after their lovely walk.
