More tests and a day out

The week started off fine for Ziggy, all happy and autumnal without a care in the world:

Then on Wednesday he spent the day at the vets, under anaesthetic having skin biopsies taken which have left him with various puncture wounds:

The samples plus skin scrapings and swabs will be sent away for testing but whe he came home, poor Ziggy was feeling a bit strange after his day so a quiet evening was in order:

Ziggy came to work with me the next day so I could keep an eye on him but he slept for most the day:

He did managed a little lunchtime stroll in the village:

By the time it was the weekend, Ziggy was much more like his usual self so I told him we were going out and as soon as he was in the car, he was ready to go:

It was a lovely, bright but cold day so we went to Bradford on Avon:

We visited the Doghouse which is a fabbie shop selling lovely dog stuff as well as serving coffee.  Ziggy chose a new sweater:

Bradford on Avon is really dog friendly so Ziggy did some shopping and stayed nice and warm in his snazzy sweater:

And once he was home, he played with his little squeaky pumpkin:

Sunny Autumn Sunday

It's been such a perfect Autumn day today that we made sure we got out and enjoyed the sunshine.  Ziggy has a day at the vets coming up so I wanted to make sure he got an extra fabbie walk before he has to stay on lead for a while.  He was happy as always:

Sunshine through the big old oak tree:

We were out for ages, walking from one field to the next:

We love our fields.  Lots of happy memories of walks with all my previous Labbies and lots of interesting smells for Ziggy to sniff out:

We thought this tree was looking especially pretty:

Sometimes Ziggy plods along behind me and other times he likes to run on ahead:

A damp schnoz - part dew, part slobber splatter:

Heading home:

This week Ziggy will be spending Wednesday at the vets as he is going to have skin biopsies taken while he is under anaesthetic.  The vet will make small incisions to take skin samples for testing.  Despite all his treatment to date, Ziggy is still itchy and biopsies are the only test not yet completed so hopefully it will enable treatment to stop him being so uncomfortable.

Sleepy Ziggy

Ziggy is a boy who loves to sleep.  He likes to get up early for a wee and then go back to bed.  Then when it is time to get up, he has breakfast and then sleeps on the sofa.

He likes to sleep on the big bed:

Ziggy stayed awake long enough to go the field before the sun set:

But now the days are getting shorter, a couple of times last week we found ourselves walking in the fading light:

Ziggy had an appointment to see his dermatologist on Friday so came to work.  Where he slept:

We went to see Grandyma.  After initial excitement, Ziggy slept some more:

Today started off rainy so Ziggy settled himself on the sofa.  He woke long enough to come for a walk when the rain eased off:

And now, he is sleeping on the sofa, making sure he is properly rested for a good night's sleep....

Busy. busy Ziggy

Last weekend we went to meet a very special Labrador, 15 year old Alfie who found himself in the dog pound and needing help.  Luckily for him, he found a place to call home and with the lovely Jo and her Labrador Rescue family.  Thanks for a very kind donation via our local petshop, we took a supply of special diet food:

Grandyma was staying with us so we all went for breakfast in our favourite cafe in town where Ziggy wasn't the only Black Labrador:

This week we have noticed how fast the nights are drawing in so we've made the most of getting out in the evenings:

Ziggy takes time to rest on the sofa and look adorable:

Yesterday we went to Virginia Water to meed up with a very special friend, Maria and her parents boy Charlie.  It was pouring with rain but that didn't stop us and the boys having a fabbie walk around the lake and a good catch up.

Today was sunny but cold, perfect for a walk in the park.  Ziggy didn't notice the squirrel that ran out almost in front of him and up a tree:

It's the same beautiful park that I took Wiggle on his 14th birthday, so a place of happy memories.

And a very special memory for today, LucytheLab, Wiggle's best girl in Seattle who celebrated her birthday in heaven. Our love and thoughts go to Lucy and her mum xx
