Wiggle - Day 1,957

We had a nice surprise the other day - we won a mug from Dog Mug! We'd re-tweeted a post on Twitter and been chosen to win a mug! It needed to be collected from the sorting office and here it is:

This afternoon I finished work early, much to Wiggle and Sofy's surprise. Even more exciting was that we had plans to come to London for the weekend so after a good journey, we arrived at Mindy and Paul's before they were home.

Wiggle - Day 1,955

On this day last year, I was very excited as I was on a plane, on my way to Seattle to visit LucytheLab and her lovely mom.  Wiggle wanted to come too!

I had a lovely holiday and created many happy memories.  It's hard to believe that its been a whole year since my trip!

One of my favourite trips out was when we took Lucy to Richmond Beach in Shoreline where she got to run on the beach and play in the water. http://www.wigglethedog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/wiggle-day-1598.html

I had such a wonderful time with Lucy and her mom and just wish that Wiggle had been able to come too and spend some time with his Lucy. I just know they would have had lots of fun together!

Wiggle - Day 1,952

As Wiggle has had to stay on lead for the last couple of weeks since his operation, he and Sofy were very happy to get some off-lead play time today.

But she soon perked up and ran fast to get the ball:

Wiggle - Day 1,949

This evening I did some baking, including using leftover apples & blackberries to make crumble.  This made Wiggle very happy because he got to have the leftovers!

Wiggle - Day 1,946

While Wiggle's wound on his paw is healing he needs to stay out of the fields and on the lead for our walks.  He's ok about it though, wearing his boot as we walk:

Wiggle: "I'm ok with the boot, I think I look good!"

Sofy climbed on the bench as we walked past, so we stopped for a photo:

Wiggle - Day 1,944

Yesterday evening I took Wiggle to our local pet store to get a boot for his poorly paw.  Wiggle was very happy to be there:

Mostly, Wiggle was good, sitting in the aisle:

But then he decided that browsing was boring and it was better to help himself to a snack:

Once he'd been fitted with his new boot, he checked that our items had been packed ok:

We got Wiggle a special dog boot:

Wiggle was wiggling too much to have his photo taken wearing his boot, but its very smart and will keep his wound clean and dry when we go for our walks:

Wiggle - Day 1,942

This evening Wiggle went to the vet to have his wound checked.  He was very excited, waiting in reception:

After the bandage had been removed, Wiggle had a good look around behind reception while I talked to the vet.  The wound is healing nicely and he will go back the week after next to have his stitches out.

After his check-up, Wiggle waited for his treats for being a Very Good Boy:

Now the bandage is off, the wound needs to heal but is doing well so far:

Unfortuntely for Wiggle, while there is no bandage, Wiggle needs to wear the Horrid Cone so that he can't lick the wound or take the stitches out himself....

Wiggle - Day 1,940

Wiggle is having a quiet evening after spending the day at the veterinary hospital.  The surgery to remove the lump on his toe went well and he now has a nice red bandage to protect the wound and stitches:

Wiggle is going back on Wednesday evening to have his wound checked so will be on lead walks for a while to give the toe time to heal. 

Having had anaesthetic, Wiggle is feeling a little odd and has been whining but thats normal and I'm sure that after a good night's sleep, he'll be feeling a lot better.

Wiggle - Day 1,939

Today it has mostly rained. Lots of rain.

So after our walk, Wiggle and Sofy wore their fleeces to dry off:

They're now both fast asleep, unaware that tomorrow Wiggle will spend the day at the vets...

Wiggle - Day 1,938

Today we woke up to heavy rain but by the time we walked it had cleared and the sun came out.

Even though the grass was wet, Sofy still wanted to make the most of the sunshine...

Wiggle - Day 1,936

We learnt the test results from Wiggle's biopsy today and thankfully, the lump on his toe is benign. However, due to its location and the lack of fur on that toe to protect the lump, Wiggle will go in to the vets on Monday to have the lump removed.

Needless to say we're very relieved that the lump isn't nasty but we don't want to risk Wiggle catching the lump and bursting it and getting an infection so although there's always a worry with anaesthetic, once Wiggle is over the surgery he'll soon be back to running around without a care in the world.

Today Wiggle's girlfriend LucytheLab is celebrating her 12th birthday!

 

Alhtough I got to stay with Lucy last year when I visited her and her lovely mum in Seattle, Wiggle sadly has never met the love of his life.  They tweet each other and see each other on Skype but if Wiggle had his way, he'd be right there with Lucy, celebrating her special day.

Wiggle - Day 1,932

Wiggle went to the vet today as he was due his vaccination booster and I'd noticed a lump on his paw which I wanted to get checked.

While Sofy waited in the car, Wiggle saw lovely vet Alison who gave him a good check over before looking at his paw.  She needed to do a fine needle aspiration of the lump and mentioned sedating Wiggle but I assured her that he's happy at thevets and having things done.  So, I sat on the floor with Wiggle sitting on me and he was a Very Brave Boy as I cuddled him and stroked his soft velvety ears while Alison took two samples from the lump.

We'll have to wait a few days for the results so until then, fingers and paws crossed that this little lump on Wiggle's toe is nothing serious:

After our appointment, we stopped at Maude Heath on the way home.  Wiggle went on ahead:

But then he decided to go through the barbed wire fence into the next field:

Sofy followed and ran around (fortunately they both chose places in the fence with Labrador-sized gaps):

Wiggle enjoyed sniffing around and taking in the view:

Soon they were both back in the same field with me:

Wiggle - Day 1,928

Now its October, we're noticing the nights drawing in quickly now.  So much so, that by the time we were leaving the field this evening, it was almost dark:.  Wiggle and Sofy didn't mind though and were happy to run around in the fading light.

Won't be long before Wiggle and Sofy are wearing their Puplights for our walks!
