Wiggle - Day 894

We had more snow! Ok, so not tons of the stuff, but we woke up to a covering and more falling. As we love snow, this discovery was very exciting, even early in the morning when we went out!

First snowy footprints of the winter:

Murky shapes in the dark, snowy field:

Falling flakes:

The snow stopped during the day and has mostly gone around here now but it's bitterly cold out so we are now tucked up in the warm, thankful to have the heating working and while Wiggle and Sofy are curled up on the sofa, I'm relaxing with a little mulled wine......

Wiggle - Day 893

There's still time to vote for Wiggle in the Pet Superstar Competition - follow this link if you've not already voted: http://www.mypetsuperstar.com/gallery.aspx?id=2695&p=2&c=inspirational

We really would appreciate some more votes as the opportunity to win a feature in the magazie would be brilliant for Labrador Rescue South East & Central.

Wiggle - Day 892

Yesterday we walked into town to meet some friends and watch the Christmas Lantern Parade make its way through through the town and the Christmas lights get switched on.

Wiggle and Sofy had a fun time, getting lots of fuss and Sofy even managed to find herself a whole doughnut that someone had dropped! I'd only just realised that she had found the doughnut but in a matter of seconds, it was gone. Wiggle made do with watching people eat and I suppose when you sit on the ground, there's not a lot else to see apart from human feet!

Part of the Lantern Parade:

On our way home, after the lights had been switched on:

Today Wiggle and Sofy have done lots of running in the frosty field, both of them being especially boingy earlier. I had been invited to the parents for lunch so Wiggle and Sofy were very happy when I came home with leftovers for roast dinner! After the earlier running, then a big dinner, they've spent the rest of their day relaxing.....

Wiggle - Day 891

We've had snow!!! Ok, not lots and lots and definitely not as much as Wiggle's girlfriend Lucy got this week in Seattle http://lucythelabseattle.blogspot.com/ but we woke up to a dusting of snow.

I wrapped up warm and we went over to the field and before running around, Wiggle and Sofy wanted a quick biscuit treat:

Sofy, always the little piglet, was wanting more biscuit treats and didn't bother moving from her position!

Wiggle was off and sniffing, running around in the long frozen grass:

But soon came running back when I called and he remembered that he'd not had breakfast yet!

Snack over, Wiggle ran off again while Sofy then came running for a biscuit:

Frosty dogs:

As well as the snow, we had another wonderful surprise this morning - a very fab donation from one of Wiggle's best supporters and avid blog reader:

I won't embarass this very kind person by naming them, but thank you so much for your generosity, it really means a lot to us. Thank you and virtual Labbie Licks and Wags from Wiggle!

Wiggle - Day 890

Where has this week gone?? All the upheaval of this week and the work to get the heating problems fixed have made this week fly by. Wiggle and Sofy have taken it all in their stride though, and if anything, seemed to be bored of it all.

After the initial excitement of visitors, Wiggle and Sofy had apparently gone back to their respective beds and shown very little interest. I'm very pleased with them as it was noisy and messy having the pipework for the central heating ripped out and then the new pipes installed. Fortunately though, the chap doing the work has dogs of his own so I didn't need to worry about the front door being left wide open!

Now its all fixed and we are all warm and toasty, so if we do get the cold weather forecast for this winter, we're all ready for it! Although so far, we've only had the teeniest flakes of snow.....

Wiggle - Day 889

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're thankful for a lot of things, especially right now, very thankful for my parents. As always, I'm thankful that Wiggle is the wonderful companion that he is and of course, Wiggle wouldn't be the dog he is without Labrador Rescue South East & Central.

Wiggle - Day 888

Just a quick blog tonight as we are absolutely freezing here! We're having to have the central heating pipes replaced so while the boiler is shut down for the work to be done, we are mostly keeping moving or cuddling to keep warm.

Thankfully, Wiggle is good at cuddling!

Wiggle - Day 887

Wiggle is a product tester!

We've been sent a fab new LEUCHTIE light collar from Collarways for Wiggle to try out.
http://www.collarways.co.uk/pages/leuchtie-led-light-collar-for-dogs/6704

Unfortunately Wiggle has only had time to try it on and not carry out a full test but he'll be giving it a thorough trial and reporting back.....

Wiggle - Day 885

Wiggle is so patient at times, especially when you see what I did to him earlier.....

And yes, I did have to kiss that cute little nose!

I was checking that the new battery fairy lights worked, so being silly, I wrapped them around Wiggle:

Bless him, he didn't complain and instead was probably daydreaming about tennis balls. Unaware that there are actually a couple of tennis balls hiding under the TV, just inches from Wiggle!

Wiggle - Day 884

Wiggle has had fun getting mucky. It happened in stages.

Stage 1: Get some some slobber on your head

Stage 2: Add to that some grass and just a bit soggy after doing a little tumble

Stage 3: Splash around in a patch of mud to add some dirt to the face

Stage 4: Then splash around in the muddy water to make double drool!

Stage 5: Look pleased with yourself for your efforts

All that muck was from our walk on the Downs earlier. Sofy was sitting while Wiggle waited to run for the ball:

The sun hasn't come out all day so its been damp and dull but that didn't stop Wiggle and Sofy from playing and fetching:

Havng fun on a dreary day:

Sofy was going one way:

While Wiggle was going the other way!

Splashing around in the muddy puddle:

Out of the puddle, more ball fetching:

After all that running, Wiggle and Sofy have spent the entire afternoon sleeping on the sofa..... Can't say I blame them!

Wiggle - Day 883

Exciting news! The very lovely people at Collarways ( http://www.collarways.co.uk/ ) are selling the very fab Lupine Keyrings with the proceeds going to Wiggle's favourite charity, Labrador Rescue South East & Central!

http://www.collarways.co.uk/products/retired-lupine-keyrings-for-charity/16429

I have one of the Lupine keyrings myself and its just right for my car keys:

Even more exciting is that Collarways are having a Christmas Open Day on Saturday 11th December and we are going to be there having a little fundraising stall. Obviously we're very grateful that Collarways are fundraising for us so it will be a pleasure to go along with some of the lovely Christmas merchandise and try to raise a few more pounds for Labrador Rescue South East & Central!

The Christmas Open Day is from 10am to 4pm at Collarways, Chaldicott Barns, Semley, Shaftesbury, SP7 9AW.

Wiggle - Day 882

We're making arrangements for what will probably be our last fundraising event of the year.

Organised by my colleague and LRSE&C Co-Ordinator Fiona, we will be having a stall at the Christmas Lights Evening in Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire. The High Street will be closed and there will be lots of stalls, late shopping and even Santa with real reindeer!

It looks like a really fun evening so if you're in the area, please come along as we'll have lots of Christmassy items for sale to raise funds for Labrador Rescue South East & Central:

Wiggle - Day 880

Another cold start to our day, with some fog too.

Wiggle went running off across the field while Sofy had a mad few minutes, running around like a loony:

Wiggle was still sniffing the frozen grass while Sofy was charging around, bum-tucking around....

Not put off by the mad thing that was tearing around, Wiggle was concentrating on his sniffing:

Starting to get tired, Sofy runs back to me:

Frosty eyebrows!

Bye then, Wiggle......

Ah, its ok, Wiggle's coming back!

One last foggy photo before going home for breakfast.....

Wiggle - Day 879

Cold and frosty day today so Wiggle and Sofy have done lots of running in the field although as it was quite foggy, for the most part, all I could see was the dark shape of Wiggle running along.

Sofy did some running around too, chasing things in the dark that only she could see.

All that running around makes for two tired Labradors.......

Wiggle - Day 878

More drizzly rain and dullness here today so it was a welly walk earlier across to the fields.

Wiggle was first, under the style:

The dreary day didn't stop the running and sniffing:

Muddy field, just wating for Labrador feet!

Sofy was first to get muddy:

And then got the smell of something which sent her running around like a loon!

Back with us, Sofy followed Wiggle:

Until something in the hedge caught her attention. Wiggle was oblivious, on the trail of some deer poo, but you'll be glad to know I didn't photograph that!

Muddy boy:

Heading for home where a rub down and clean up was needed!
