Wiggle and Sofy have been up to Maude Heath today for some running around and play time. To start, Sofy had the ball but dropped it when she saw a pheasant and decided to give chase, except I called her and she came but but then didn't know where the ball was!
Not to worry though, Wiggle, expect in search and retrieve, was on hand to look for the ball while Sofy lolloped around, forgetting that there even was a ball!
Autumnal Photo:
Unfortunately for Wiggle and Sofy, their day went downhill after we came home. Unknown to them, I had plans to fence off the lawn from the patio. In the winter the garden gets so boggy and muddy, its easier to keep off the grass.
Now that they have been for a wee and found only patio, they are both on wee strike. I know from previous times when I've put up the fence, eventually they will give in and find a place to pee - they can do it on the pavement when we're out, so its not impossible to go without grass!
Doesn't stop the woeful faces though:
Seeing Sofy's face in this photo, it struck me how similar she is to Dolly:
Bumpy and Dolly, back in 2008, not looking too pleased about the temporary fence either!

Wiggle - Day 863
I've had a really great day today, fundraising for LRSE&C at the Wootton Bassett Animal Charities Day, orgaised by Wootton Bassett Area Cats Protection.
As the event was quite local, I didn't have to rush around this morning and it was nice to be setting up indoors. My stall:
In total, I took over £100 which is a really good amount to take and big thanks to Andrea and everyone else at Wootton Basset Cats Protection for organising the day and inviting me.
We'll be back in Wootton Bassett on Friday 3rd December as LRSE&C have a fundraising stall for the Christmas Lights Switch On in the High Street. More details nearer the time....
Wiggle and Sofy have spent most of their day relaxing and this afternoon I was back in time for us to have a walk across to the field before dark:
Wiggle chased the ball and ate some grass:
Sofy did the same but didn't have grass hanging from her mouth:

Wiggle - Day 859
Tonight Wiggle and Sofy came with me to get dogfood as the food bin was nearly empty! I nearly took them into the petfood store with me but decided in the end that it would probably be safest to leave them in the car - way too many temptations, including the Bonio Buffet!
I think they just liked going out in the car, even if they didn't actually stop off anywhere! Maybe in their own minds Wiggle and Sofy had been somewhere fun as after we'd come home and walked, they were both sleepy:

Wiggle - Day 858
As its now getting dark so much earlier, this evening we went out as soon as I got home, so Wiggle and Sofy could have a play across the field while it was still light:
Sniffing as the sunsets:
The last of the light:
The little dot in the sky is a Hercules aircraft from RAF Lyneham which is only a few miles away!

Wiggle - Day 857
Today we've had a beautiful, sunny autumn day so we went over to Bradford on Avon for a walk.
As soon as we were close to the river, Wiggle and Sofy were straight in:
Then Sofy was back out!
And back in again!
Splashing around:
After a while we walked on, along the canal towpath:
Once we reached Avoncliffe, we stopped at the pub for brunch - sharing a breakfast baguette between all 3 of us!! Wiggle and Sofy watched while I ate first, before they each had their share:
Leaving the pub, by the aquaduct which takes the canal over the River Avon:
Wiggle was happy to be offlead again, running with his ball:
Sofy thought it was time to go back in the water:
And then just stood there for a while......
Sunny, autumn day:
More splashing about:
Taking in turns for the ball:
And then back to the car, fleeces on to dry off on the way home......

Wiggle - Day 855
This evening we managed to get up to the Downs while it was still light. Wiggle and Sofy did lots of running around, chasing around after the ball on a rope:
Fading sun:
Just 11 minutes after the first photo was taken

It was really kind of the organisers to invite me to take my stall along, so I hope I have a good day both for LRSE&C and also for the Shaw Trust, a great charity who help disabled and disadvantaged people learn to live a more independant life and help them to get back into work.

Wiggle - Day 853
This is Sofy just now:
Sofy is fast asleep. Sofy has been having fun while we were on our walk, running off in the dark, in the field, after something. At first, Sofy was just running around in circles, boinging around in the cold, damp grass. Then next thing, she just shot off into the dark, ignoring me.
But then a few minutes later, a bright light appeared on the horizon - Sofy, wearing her Puplight, was on her way back!! I have no idea what she had found or chased, and I will never know......

Wiggle - Day 852
After last night's flash photography, Wiggle and Sofy have been in a softer light this evening...
Sofy looks quite serious but really, I was trying to sneak in a photo of the Clivia plant which my mum gave me at the weekend. It was my Grandma's and its not an easy plant to look after, so I wanted to show my mum that its still alive and well here with us! And Sofy looks cute too.....
"Take MY photo, not the plant!"
Sleepy, soft focus Wiggle:

Wiggle - Day 851
Wiggle and Sofy have had a good day of walking in the dewy field, napping, going out with the dogwalker at lunchtime, some more snoozing and then lots of running around in the fields in the dark. Oh, and not forgetting the mealtimes - a highlight of any self respecting Lab's day!
And the occassional snack. Snacks are always welcome and will normally cause this kind of reaction: the nice sit and stay!
The flash shows off Wiggle's grey chin!
Then again, the flash doesn't do Sofy many favours - looking grey for her 5 young years.....

Wiggle - Day 850
We haven't really been anywhere special this weekend, even though we've had nice dry, autumnal weather. Although living just across the road from some lovely fields, it didn't really matter that Wiggle and Sofy didn't go out in the car.
Yesterday afternoon we took a different path, along a field that was just right for playing:
Last night it was frosty, but after the clear sky at night, we woke up to a nice, crispt bright morning. Wiggle and Sofy didn't mind that we went to the fields again, as the cold night brought with it fresh, new smells to sniff out:
Sunny skies:
After lots of running around, Wiggle was happy to rest and lie in the sunpuddle:
This evening I was trying to take care of a few emails, but Wiggle wanted cuddles:
And now, after all that running, sniffing, sunbathing and cuddling, Wiggle is snoring softly in his bed......
