Wiggle - Day 802

We've had an extra day to our weekend, being a Bank Holiday here in the UK. Wiggle didn't look so impressed when I went out without him but was slightly happier when I came back:

The Dog Food bin had been refilled!

After checking that all the kibble had gone in the bin, it was time for a little nap. On two beds!

The bed from the car needs washing so while it was waiting to go in the machine, Wiggle had some extra padding under his bead:

While Wiggle and Sofy slept, I got on with some house work until later in the afternoon when our friends Allan and Nathan came over to walk with us on the Downs.

Happy Wiggle:

Since having their dinner, Wiggle and Sofy have hardly moved from their respective sleeping positions - Wiggle in his bed with extra padding and Sofy on the sofa!

Wiggle - Day 801

Wiggle and Sofy have had a busy day, in between catching up with the sleep they missed out on yesterday!

We all enjoyed ourselves at Shrivenham Fete, helping Fiona on the LRSE&C stall:

After such a busy day which also included lots of meeting & greeting (Wiggle) and a fair amount of shouting (Sofy) we had a more relaxed day today.

Sofy was looking half asleep when we set off for the Downs:

Wiggle was more alert, waiting for his ball:

Even in the sunshine, Sofy wasn't looking any perkier:

Wiggle - Day 800

We've been at Shrivenham Fete today, helping Fiona on the LRSE&C fundraising stall. The rain stayed away and Wiggle was ace meeter and greeter. Sofy shouted a lot.

Back tomorrow with a proper update and photos, just didn't want to let the 800th day pass!

Wiggle - Day 799

A few more photo's from earlier in the week.

Sofy found her comfy spot in the tent - my bed!

Wiggle was happy to use the dog bed, but joined me on the airbed during the night!

Tuesday turned out nicer and we headed south, down into Cornwall and to Boascastle:

Wiggle - Day 798

Wiggle and Sofy have spent some quality time, catching up on sleep. All our adventures has clearly been very tiring!

As I took lots and lots of photo's, here are a few more from our little holiday in Devon.

Wiggle - Day 796

Last night was even worse than the previous - gales and sudden torrential rain didn't make for a good nights sleep!

Thankfully though, the tent survived and we managed to get some sunshine today. As we're not far from the border with Cornwall we drove south and went to Boscastle. The village survived torrential rain and floods in August 2004 after heavy rain washed away the centre.

The sun shone today though and we spent a few hours, wandering around the village, going into the Visitor Centre and stopping for coffee.

After leaving Boscastle we headed North again and stopped at Widemouth Bay as there's a dog friendly beach. Wiggle and Sofy had a really good run and play and I even dipped my toes in the sea!

The wind seems to have calmed so hopefully our night will be calmer! We are leaving tomorrow so need to get packed up before the forecast rain.

Wiggle - Day 795

We survived a VERY wet and windy night - rain lashing down on us, followed by strong winds. Wiggle and Sofy picked 6am to wake me so as it was a brief dry spell, they went for their morning wee's and had their breakfast. Our sleeping arrangement ended up with me in between Wiggle and Sofy on the airbed and as it had been comfortable, we all went back to bed for a while!

The rain eased but was replaced with the wind so I made a shelter from one of the folding tables so I could use the gas burner to boil the kettle and make breakfast. Wiggle and Sofy enjoyed extra breakfast of sossijes and egg.

Once breakfast etc was out the way we headed out in the car and saw a sign to Hartland Lighthouse so decided that was a good starting point for our day out.

We walked up to the observation point to see the view - it was a long way up! We walked around the coast path for a while and then after a stop for hot chocolate, got back in the car and drove to Clovelly.( www.clovelly.co.uk ). After a wander through the village, down the steep cobbles to the quay where Wiggle and Sofy had a paddle in the sea.

This afternoon, we went to visit Margaret, secretary of LRSE&C and very lovely fr
iend as she lives here in North Devon. She took us to a wonderful part of the coast where we walked and the dog could play offlead! It really was lovely especially as the sun came out and we were able to enjoy the beach just before the tide came in.

Needless to say, Wiggle and Sofy are now fast asleep and I think I will be soon too!

Wiggle - Day 794

Hello from Devon!

We are here, warm and dry in our tent as its now raining steadily. After getting stuck in traffic on the motorway we didn't arrive here until early afternoon and as this area has had a fair amount of rain over the last few days, its a bit soggy in our field!

Once the tent was all setup we went for a walk and stopped at the local shop for provisions. Wiggle and Sofy have had a supper of barbecue'd chicken and sossijes with their kibble so they are happy. They are both sleeping now and will no doubt sleep in with me tonight....

Wiggle - 793

We are all going camping tomorrow so Wiggle and Sofy have been helping me sort out the tent and the rest of our camping stuff and generally getting in the way. The car is packed, all ready to leave tomorrow, we just need slightly better weather than we've got!

Wiggle - Day 790

Very exciting day yesterday - a fab, new gazebo arrived from Easy Gazebos!

After our gazebo recently fell to pieces, I'd been hoping to get another gazebo but really dreamt of having a really good, high quality gazebo that would last. After looking around though, I discovered that the best, easy-up gazebo's were out of my price range.

Undeterred, I sent off a few cheeky emails, explaining about LRSE&C and about Wiggle & how we go to different fundraising event and to my complete shock, the lovely Heather at Easy Gazebo's replied to say that they would be delighted to donate a gazebo!!

Huge, huge thanks to everyone at Easy Gazebos for the very generous donation!

Wiggle - Day 788

Wiggle is still on lead rest, he didn't run around like usual when we went up to the Downs.

Taking things a little easier is ok though as it allows for more sniffing time:

Watching what Sofy is up to:

And of course being available to sit and be very handsome.....
