Wiggle - Day 451

Wiggle and Sir H seem to have got over their busy weekend and are both sleeping off our walk on the Downs earlier. No photo's I'm afraid as I forgot to charge the camera batteries! Needless to say, Wiggle did lots of running and Sir H had a lie down.

This time last year, we were at the LRSE&C Dogs Party. Sadly, due to various reasons there is no party this year, so Wiggle gets to keep his Dog of the Year trophy for another year. Plans are underway for next year's party and all being well, it will be back, bigger and better than before.

Wiggle - Day 449

We're in London for the weekend! Wiggle and Sir H were very excited when we arrived last night and pulled up outside Mindy's house. Toby and Beenz came straight out to greet us but after a while, they all settled down for some serious snoozing.

Today I took the boys up to the common for a walk. Wiggle brought his ball on a rope with him and enjoyed the wide space to run around...

Sir H took his usual slower pace and gave the grass a thorough sniffig!

Wiggle didn't have time to go slow and as usual, was racing around after his ball:

Starting to get a bit tired:

Sir H, doing his own thing:

After dropping Sir H back at the house, Wiggle and I went to visit Mindy and Paul at work. Wiggle had a good look around the showroom and popped next door to say hello to everyone, even though he hadn't been formally invited!

Wiggle - Day 446

Wiggle and Sir H have been settling into a new routine as I started a new job last week so for the first time in a long time, I'm working Monday to Friday. The boys don't seem to mind though and have been settling down after their morning walk until the dogwalker comes in at lunchtime.

After evening dinner we've been out and Wiggle has done lots of running and chasing his ball. Most evenings he's been looking like this:

We're off to London on Thursday to stay with friends and of course the boys will be coming too. I'm sure they'll be pleased when they realise they are staying with their mates Toby and Beenz!

Wiggle - Day 444

Sir H didn't feel like walking far when we went out this morning, so only Wiggle came with me when I went to get dog food. Wiggle came into the shop and was a little naughty as he stole a biscuit from the Bonio Buffet! He then helped himself to a chew on a display next to the tills but we paid for that one!.

On the way home, we stopped off at Maude Heath so Wiggle could have a good run around.

As soon as we were in the field, Wiggle was giving me the pleading "throw the ball" eyes:

Once the ball was thrown, Wiggle was his happy self, running around....

Wiggle doesn't always aim very well when he goes to catch the ball and managed to execute a rather odd, head first catch!

Quick rest:

Rest over, time to run some more, ears flapping!

Ears under control again:

Wiggle leads the way.....

But comes back, with his ball.....

His motives were clear: to bring the ball back for me to throw!

Wiggle showing off his muddy mouth:

After the close up, Wiggle was ready for me to throw the ball again:

Wiggle decided to show off - he doesn't need to open the gate to go from field to field!

Another rest stop......

Handsome boy:

More running, before heading for home:

Wiggle - Day 443

Wiggle is a little worn out this evening. While we were out on our walk, he met up with a collie called Jake and did lots and lots of running around, chasing after his ball.

Sir H just lay in the grass and watched, keeping out of the way, which was probably the most sensible idea!

After all that running around, Wiggle doesn't look likely to move from his bed for quite a while....

Wiggle - Day 441

Regular readers of Wiggle's blog will know that we sponsor Bumpy, a blind dog living at a Temple in Sri Lanka, who is looked after by the Dogstar Foundation.

Sam, founder of Dogstar, was in Sri Lanka for 6 weeks and today I received some post from my very special sponsor dog:

Bumpy was named in memory of my very own special blind boy, Bumpy Jake, who passed away last year. Bumpy, like Wiggle, has skin problems and he gets treatment from the Dogstar volunteer's and vets. As you can see, he's looking really well:

Wiggle - Day 439

Earlier today I took the boys up to the Downs. Although there were a few spots of rain on the way, once we got there it was dry, but very windy. Wiggle was straight out of the car and running around..

Sir H brought up the rear, at his own pace, as usual!

But before long, Sir H needed a lie down....

Wiggle didn't have time to stop and used his best pleading eyes face to get me to throw the ball for him:

Obviously I gave in and threw the ball and Wiggle was happy to chase around, boinging like a loon!

Sir H found himself a nice sunny spot in the long grass to have a lie down:

Wiggle was in the long grass to after losing the ball. He spent ages running and searching....

Until he found the ball and ran some more!

On the way back to the car, I thought I'd see how clever Wiggle could be and whether he could find his ball. He saw it, but had to think about how to get it down.....

He tried one way:

And then a big jump:

But he still couldn't quite reach.

Eventually Wiggle realised he was going to have to make a huge jump for dog-kind:

And grabbed the ball on his way over!

Clearly Wiggle was feeling smug and decided to have the last laugh......
