Wiggle - Day 2,105

This weekend Wiggle and Sofy have been very happy to be reunited with their garden as the winter fence came down.  After the grass had been cut, they spent some time laying around, playing with toys:

Wiggle chose one of his bones:

While Sofy chewed on the rubbery toy because she likes the squeak in the middle:

Wiggle - Day 2,102

This evening Wiggle and Sofy went to the vet as Sofy was due her booster and Wiggle has had a poorly eye.

Apart from Sofy barking a few times, they both waited patiently to be seen:

In the consulting room, Sofy tried to hide behind Wiggle:

Sofy was fine and had her injection and then it was Wiggle's turn to check his eye.  He had some anaesthetic and then dye put in so that Malcolm could get a better look.

Wiggle has a corneal ulcer so now has eye drops and is having Metacam to help with any inflammation.

He's ok in himself and was happy to stop at Maud Heath on the way back:

Sofy was just glad that she didn't have anything more than her injection!

Wiggle will go back in a week to check on his progress.

Wiggle - Day 2,098

Another day of sunshine and showers but we were lucky this morning and had sun when we stopped at Maud Heath:

Wiggle, just being handsome:

Sunny Sofy, ready to play:

Sofy's action shot - less flattering:

More ball games:

Wiggle was being very nice to Sofy and letting her get the ball:

Wiggle, King of the Hill:

Sofy had a spring in her step:

Wiggle got the ball but Sofy tried to make a grab for it:

Sofy gave up on the ball while Wiggle kept running:

Wiggle carried on running by himself, enjoying running free in the sunshine:

And before we headed back to the car, stopping to take in the view and feel the wind through his fur:

Wiggle - Day 2,093

Since being accepted to become a visiting dog for Pets As Therapy, we've been in touch with co-ordinators to find an establishment that would like to have Wiggle visit.

In the meantime, Wiggle has been modelling his new uniform:

Wiggle - Day 2,085

It's been a beautiful spring day here so we were out this morning, enjoying the sunshine and a walk along the old railway track.

Wiggle was ahead, leading us across the bridge:

But what he really wanted was to be offlead and with his tennis ball:

Sofy stayed on lead, to keep her from the temptations of small furry things/dead things:

Wiggle wanted to go through into the field, but had to wait for me to open the dog gate:

Sofy was less patient!

Once in the field, they were both running free:

And down to the river which was a lot deeper and flowing faster, due to all the recent rain:

Wiggle paddled:

Waiting for the ball:

Making a splash:

Sofy took a moment to look serious:

Wiggle just wanted the ball:

Sofy got the ball, but Wiggle still wagged, spraying water with his tail:

Sofy proved that she can make the biggest splash:

Back out of the water, running in the sunshine to dry off:

A handsome pair, even if I do say so myself!

Sofy certainly had a spring in her step:

Wiggle waited by the dog flap, knowing I'd have to lift it for him:

Wiggle took his time on the way back:

But did break into a trot to catch up with Sofy and me:

And as with any walk along the old railway track, the traditional photo at Wiggle's Halt:

Wiggle's Day at Crufts for LRSE&C

We had a wonderful day at Crufts on Thursday and are very grateful to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust for inviting us once again.  It's a great opportunity to talk to the public about what LRSE&C does, our dogs and spread the word about our wonderful rescue Labrador's.

We were very honoured to be visited by HRH Prince Michael of Kent who stopped by to meet us, our dogs and hear more about the work of the charity.

Wiggle had some time outside of the pen, so he could meet and greet:

The Eukanuba Breed Rescue Stand:

Wiggle met Victoria Stilwell.  She said he was a Very Good Boy:

Cato, Lucy and Mac, ready to say hello to visitors:

Keeping all directions covered, just making sure no visitors were ignored:

Mac was keen to welcome everyone:

We were very well looked after by Eukanuba and the KC Charitable Trust and glad to have been able to attend.  Wiggle, Cato, Lucy and Mac were all on their best behaviour and Wiggle was very lucky and given lots of treats and some toys when we took some time out to wander around the halls.

Sofy had gone and stayed with friends as Wiggle and I had gone up to Derbyshire to stay with our friends Sarah and Phil as they are closer to the NEC.  Wiggle was scared of the cats, including Jake who decided he wanted to sleep in with me!

Before we left yesterday, Wiggle had a wander around, saying hello to the chickens:

Then it was time to say farewell to Mac and come back home:
