Wiggle - Day 654

At last, a sunny day! After all the rain we've had over this long weekend, it's been lovely to finally have some sunshine.

We went up to the Downs this morning so Wiggle and Sofy could have a good run aroung.

They played nicely, taking it in turns with the ball:

Sir H wasn't running, instead preferring to enjoy the fresh air:

I tried to get as group shot but no-one was interested!

Wiggle and Sofy just wanted to play:

Sir H didn't....

Sofy played tug:

And after finally letting go of the ball, is ready to run again:

Play stops for treats:

After all that running and fresh air, everyone was feeling a little weary. Sofy, only just keeping her eyes open!

Sir H......

Oh dear, clearly all that fresh air is very tiring for an old chap!

Wiggle preferred to rest from the comfort of the sofa....

After a little rest, it was time for an Easter treat, which was of course a reason for Wiggle and Sofy's interested expressions..

Hot Cross Buns for dogs!

Fortunately Sofy waited for me to remove the packaging

Wiggle was waiting patiently....

As there were only 2 special treats, Sir H had a special something - sausage. He was so excited, he went all blurry!

Wiggle - Day 653

Another day of wind and rain here. We managed to stay dry this morning and this afternoon, it was dry when we went out, although it didn't stay that way for long!

We didn't go far from home - just the other side of the hill from where we live! Years ago there used to be a railway going through the town but it was closed in the 60's after the infamous Beeching Report. Just up the road from us is Black Dog Halt which used to be part of the railway:
http://www.subbrit.org.uk/sb-sites/stations/b/black_dog_halt/index.shtml

This is all that's left of the railway - how appropriate for Wiggle though!

The disused railway lines were all removed and there's now a cycle path in it's place. We walked for a while, stopping for a quick photo. We live on the other side of the hill!

Wiggle was keen to explore but Sofy stayed onlead

Despite having had a bath yesterday, Wiggle didn't care about getting nice and muddy!

Back the way we'd come and over the bridge across the main road:

By now, it was raining heavily - even the sheep and lambs were trying to shelter!

Soggy dogs:

We all got absolutely soaked but now dried off again and hoping for better weather tomorrow....

Wiggle - Day 652

As forecast, we woke up to miserable weather - wind and rain. This morning we couldn't avoid it and ended up getting soaked but this afternoon we got lucky and managed to get a dry walk in!

So we headed over to the Downs and straight away, Wiggle and Sofy were running and chasing the ball:

Sitting in the sunshine:

Flappy, windswept ears:

Sofy beats Wiggle to the ball:

The weather must have put off other walkers as we didn't see many others!

Wiggle - one dog and his ball:

Sofy got caught by a gust of wind which blew her ear inside out!

Wiggle decided to take the track the racehorses use:

Happy Sofy - pleased with herself for coming back when called & waiting for her treat:

Ready to race for the ball:

Wiggle was in the lead:

And got the ball!

Fun in the grass:

While Wiggle was busy sniffing, Sofy stole the ball away from him:

"Mum, that was MY ball!"

Sofy found a puddle to splash in:

And so did Wiggle!

Then they both found a shallow ditch to paddle in:

Wiggle's mucky face:

More running:

All that space and still no one else!

Apart from getting muddy, Wiggle was due a bath. He still has a bath with his Malaseb shampoo every few weeks. Despite all the bath's Wiggle has had, he looks tragic!

And after his bath, Wiggle wears his towelling robe to dry off!

Wiggle - Day 651

The owner of one of Wiggle's fellow LRSE&C dogs is taking part in the Glasgow Womens 10k run to raise money for Labrador Rescue South East & Central. Jill has setup a Just Giving page:

In Wiggle news, we're all looking forward to the long weekend Easter break. We've had all weathers over the last few days - sun, sleet, rain, hailstones so goodness only know's what the weekend will be like! Wiggle and Sofy definitely like the lighter evenings, having been out to the green and chased around after their ball.

Sir H came too and mostly lay down!
