Wiggle - Day 178

Wiggle has continued to get festive and 'helped' me decorate the Christmas tree this evening.

He was made sure the tree was all ok











But then got bored and spent some time playing with his Kong Wubba instead















Wiggle tried to get in the mood by wearing his antlers














Once the tree was finished, Wiggle was happy to pose, complete with antlers, in return for a gravy bone biscuit















Even an antler wardrobe malfunction didn't stop Wiggle waiting for another biscuit!















PS, I don't normally edit entries, but Wiggle looked so cute just now, checking the baubles on the tree that I had to add this photo!

Wiggle - Day 177 - A Christmas Message

Hopefully, nearly everyone who has supported Wiggle in some way, should have received cards, but for everyone who has been so supportive of Wiggle since he arrived here back in June, thank you.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to send cards to every single person who donated to the auction on the Refuge forum, or bid on an item, or just posted a supportive message here on Wiggle's blog, so please accept this Christmas message as a thank you from us.

Wiggle is a very special boy and I'm so very grateful that he is here with me now, happy and healthy and getting the care he needs. Without the support of the Trustee's of LRSE&C who agreed to take him on and cover his vet bills, I can't imagine what the future would have held for Wiggle.

As you know, Wiggle was a foster to start, but he proved to be just too special for me to let him go anywhere else. I really couldn't imagine life without Wiggle now.

I'd just like to take the opportunity to say a few special thank you's, to:

Wiggle - Day 176

No photo's today as both our walks have been in the dark - first thing this morning in the frost before the sun came up and then again this evening, in the frost with the moon shining brightly.

Wiggle is having a cuddly evening today. Some evenings, after his dinner and walk, he will play with toys or curl up on the end of the sofa, but other times, if he wants to be hugged, he'll curl up with me. He does have times when he gets a bit carried away with the cuddles and wriggles around until he is upside down or almost falling off the sofa head first, but this evening Wiggle is fast asleep, head and paws on my feet.

It's times like this evening when I wonder how Wiggle felt before he came here. He's such an affectionate dog but at the same time, undemanding. I suppose I should concentrate on being happy that Wiggle gets all the love and attention that he needs now, but I don't think I'll ever understand how he could have been shut out for so long before.

Wiggle - Day 175

Wiggle and Sir H have been up on the Downs this afternoon. Wiggle managed to play with his ball without any dental accidents, I'm pleased to report. Wiggle did get a bit confused at one point after not realising that I was holding the ball still, but as the video shows, he loves running around!

Sir H showed very little excitement to be out and about....

Then we came home and Wiggle used the "I shall glare at you til you feed me" technique!

Both boys had to wait until they'd calmed down from their walk. Now they've been fed, the sulking has stopped and both Wiggle and Sir H are fast asleep.

Wiggle - Day 174

As I woke up earlier than I needed to, the boys and I have been down to the river for a walk. Left the camera at home as the light wasn't very good but Wiggle did lots of running and chasing after his tennis ball. No doubt highlight of the walk for him was getting nice and muddy!

Sir H, as always, took his walk at a more leisurely pace. He did show a little more enthusiasm than usual when he spotted the water but in the end Sir H couldn't be bothered to get wet.

Wiggle - Day 173

A quiet day here for the boys as I'm working nights. Both Wiggle and Sir H have been good and let me sleep during the day, although Wiggle did come upstairs and spend several minutes trying to persuade me that he should sleep on the bed with me!

This evening I shall be calling in at the vets to collect some more of the Atopica for Wiggle. Although he is looking really, really good right now, he still needs 50mg each day. Hopefully in a month or two I can drop it down to every other day, but we need to make sure his immune system is no longer reacting to the allergens.

I've been busy being Wiggle's secretary and taking care of his Christmas card list. Wiggle's sponsors and supporters will be receiving a little something in the post from the handsome chap himself in the next few days.

And on a purely personal note, hello to David and Nadean - my aunt and uncle in Barbados. I know you read Wiggle's blog, so while you're basking in the sunshine, I hope seeing the frosty photo's recently have reminded you of how cold it can get there!!! Mind you, its not so cold now as I type this; its raining.

Wiggle - Day 172

Another cold and frosty day here but lovely and sunny. We've been for a walk across the field, which was lovely despite the cold.

Wiggle took his tennis ball and waited patiently for me to throw it










And then did lots of running around!























Sir H watched, not feeling the inclination for such fast paced activities






















Wiggle just wanted to play fetch - so he did!










































Despite the frost on his nose, Wiggle was still looking handsome













Some more running around before it was time to come home and warm up!
