Wiggle - Day 185

I'd been out today so the boys slept after their morning walk. This afternoon we went up to the Downs as it was still light, and the walk was good but of course as it's nearly the shortest day of the year, before long, it was nearly dark!

Unsurprisingly, we didn't see many other people out walking at 4.30 in the afternoon! Sir H had a good potter about and Wiggle kept a keen eye on his tennis ball, despite the fading light.

Fortunately, I'd remembered the boys Puplight's so as we walked back towards the car they were lit up!

Sir H is now waiting in the hallway, as he know's it will soon be dinner time while Wiggle is curled up in his bed, with his duck. Aww....

Wiggle - Day 184

Today marks the 6th anniversary since Wiggle arrived. In many ways, it feels like Wiggle has been here forever as he has settled so well yet at the same time, I still remember that Friday in June just like it was yesterday.

I don't think I'll ever forget leaving his house, with Wiggle in the boot of my car, and bursting into tears. I'd seen the photo's of him and was aware that he had been badly neglected, but it still hadn't prepared me for the sad, grey, miserable looking Wiggle that I met.

It's just as well I have the photo's from back in the summer as Wiggle just doesn't look like the same dog sitting on the sofa next to me!

Happy Six Month Anniversary Wiggle!

Wiggle - Day 183

I am officially mortified. And ashamed. Wiggle, he who is normally such a good boy managed to embarass me this evening at the vets. He poo'd in reception!

Wiggle has never done anything so shameful before but to his credit, he did at least manage to look very embarassed and redeemed himself by being very cute, jumping up at the counter to get some treats from the lovely receptionist.

I'd popped into the vets to sort some paperwork out and also get him weighed so perhaps Wiggle thought it best to try and be as light as possible! I am happy to report that Wiggle weighed in at a healthy 32.2Kg's, so thats good.

After their evening walk, Sir H took himself back to bed while Wiggle decided he wasn't ready to rest so spent some quality time playing with toys.

First, it was the orange tennis ball

Next up for a good chew, it was the white Nylabone ring

But being fickle, Wiggle got bored of that and had a chew of the brown Nylabone

I thought Wiggle was done with playing, but noticed he had taken the orange tennis ball up on the sofa with him (keeping it safe by sitting on it)

The sofa-break was only short though, and Wiggle hopped off and onto his bed

The tennis ball was being thoroughly chewed....

Notice how the tennis ball is no longer quite so ball-shaped?!

After jumping out of bed and onto the rug, Wiggle was unimpressed when the ball rolled away from him....

It seems that these last few hours have been far too exciting as Wiggle is now fast asleep on the sofa!

Wiggle - Day 182

I've been at work again and put the webcam on before I left the house. I remembered to copy a few of the pictures from todays highly active going's on.......

Both boys spent most of the morning on the sofa, although Wiggle adopted a strange position with his head hanging over the edge

After the boys had been out at lunchtime, Wiggle took up position in the armchair but Sir H was straight back on the sofa

A short while later, Wiggle moved and rested his head on the arm of the chair. Sir H stretched his legs

After checking back, I saw that Sir H was awake. Briefly. While Wiggle had moved his head and was still curled up in the armchair.

A busy day for the boys then!!

Wiggle - Day 181

This morning before I went to work I remembered to setup the webcam so I could see what the boys got up to while I was out. Wiggle started off on the sofa, then Sir H joined him and they both slept through til lunchtime when my dog walker came in!

After coming back from walkies and being given a treat, Sir H was first back to the sofa. I watched him get comfortable, yawn at the camera and then sleep soundly. Wiggle had a bit of a mooch around before getting on the sofa too.

When I came home this evening, both boys were just getting off the sofa when I opened the front door. I don't think they missed me too much!!

Wiggle - Day 180

I thought Wiggle might have still been a little tired after yesterdays long walk and running around. However, he's clearly rested while I've been at work and this evening is full of beans.

The Kong Wubba was the Toy of Choice for tonight's mad play session.

I thought Wiggle was calming down a little, when he took the toy to bed.....

... but I was wrong!

After that photo was taken, Wiggle leapt up and threw the toy - which flew across the room, knocked the phone off the table. The phone landed on Sir H, poor old thing, who was minding his own business in his bed. So the Kong Wubba was taken away from Wiggle.

He's currently chewing on a Nylabone toy, trying to look like butter wouldn't melt...

Wiggle - Day 179

Wiggle and Sir H have been out today for a very lovely walk at Westonbirt Arboretum. Amy, one of the Oldies Club volunteers, had arranged a pre-Christmas walk so a whole group of us met up.
Quite a few people today had been at the Oldies Club camping weekend back in the summer, and for a few, it was the first time they'd seen Wiggle since then, so they could really see how different he is looking these days!

Wiggle now has a new girlfriend, Saffy, the lovely Labrador who belongs to Andrea. Saffy and Wiggle met at the camping weekend but at the time Saffy wasn't so keen on Wiggle. However, now Wiggle is looking so handsome, Saffy wanted to spend most of the walk playing and fetching the ball with Wiggle. A match made in tennis ball heaven!

Sir H enjoyed having an audience for poorly paw waving and was happy when he found several muddy puddles.

The start of the walk:

Lots of mad running:

Waiting for the ball to be thrown

Wiggle & Saffy

Happy Labradors in a muddy puddle

Sir H's muddy bum!

And to warm up, coffee at the end of the walk

We really have had a lovely day and it was great to meet up with so many friends and their dogs. Wiggle and Sir H have had their dinner and are now fast asleep....
